Does anyone know Elisabeth Lecourt? She's an artist who lives in London, all her works are awesome, she create artsy works, such as paintings, installations, drawings, handkerchiefs, and dresses. The dresses that she's created is not ordinary dresses. Well, the dresses is very simple but they were made in great print. She made dresses out of map, those maps are really look good on the dresses. She uses maps of different places and regions, then cuts and folds them to create dresses. Once in an interview, she said that she made her first dress out of a map from a London map that her cousin from Mexico left in her studio. She read an article in Times about a man who was going to jail and how awful it must have been for him, at the end of the article it was mentioned that the man had a little girl. She thought about that little girl, then Elisabeth made the little girl dress like she would make her portrait, she placed the prison Wormwood Scrub on the bodice, where the heart is. Isn't that really touching? Anyway, here are several photos of Les robes géographiques that Elisabeth made:
I'm surprise to know that those are images of an actual dresses made out of map. Although, it will be great if she can collaborate with a great designer like Elie Saab, so that the dresses won't be so simple like what they are now. But still, all of them are amazing, I want to put all of the pictures here, but you can see it by yourself on her web Elisabeth Lecourt website or just google it :)
